In a “long forgotten age of physical desktops,” all programs were accessed through the System Folder on the desk. One of these programs was Timer Tester, which is considered one of the most useless programs ever created. In many ways, it is still useless—nowadays people don’t use desktops for anything but a decorative stand for their AppleID screensaver. But this article is not about how useless Timer Tester is; this article is about how to install it! Firstly, find a desktop that you do not mind downloading files from and then download FileZilla from http://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client&id=1241 . Next, right-click on the file that you downloaded and then choose "Open file location." Select where you saved the file to. Finally, extract the .zip archive if necessary. Back in the old days of desktops, people did not have access to programs like FileZilla. Only very clever users would be able to get Timer Tester to work properly without crashing their computer or giving them a virus or two. That was before computers were built by magic elves, but still with only a few bugs left over from those old days of desktop computing. Before the magic elf computer makers came along, people had to type in their codes, and often they would mess up in doing so. Let's see what the amazing Timer Tester has to offer! Start it up by double-clicking on its icon. There is the program I mentioned above, but I am sad to report that it does not work well on screensavers anymore. This is probably due to the fact that you cannot interact with it while it is running. It will just act like nothing happened though when you move your mouse over it. To exit Timer Tester, click twice on its window or hit Command + Q. Although it does not work very well, Timer Tester still has some features that are pretty neat. In addition to that, I have found a couple of other things about Timer Tester that you might find interesting. It is a .net based program and it works on Windows 10(64-bit). Also, this program is featured in the third edition of the book "Ralph Waldo Emerson - A Concise Biography" by Charles H. Herrick and published by Helicon Books of New York, N.Y. But, I have to wonder why they made Timer Tester so useless after all this time. Maybe it’s because the creators of Timer Tester are worried that you might try to start up an old desktop without first wiping your hard disk clean. This would cause you to reinstall Windows every time you tried to start it up.
